‘Low-life’ steals Cub Scouts trailer, camping equipment in Temple Terrace

TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. (WFLA) – The holiday season is a time for giving, but that didn’t stop someone from stealing a Cub Scout trailer filled with youth camping equipment in Hillsborough County.

According to a Nextdoor user who posted to the neighborhood watch site, a Temple Terrace Cub Scout trailer filled with camping and scouting equipment for children was stolen early Tuesday between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m.

The trailer was stolen right off the property of Troop 82, part of the Cub Scouts of America. The equipment is estimated to be worth about $10,000.

"Some low-life decided to steal from a bunch of underprivileged children and took our scout trailer," said the troop leader in a post.

"All of our pack’s camping equipment, tents and a good chunk of the food from our camping trip this past weekend is in it. This is not something we can just replace!”

The troop leader and others are asking for the public’s help to find the trailer. It is a white trailer with an emblem on the side showing "BSA" (Boy Scouts of America), Troop 84, and "Sponsored by Christ Covenant Church, Tampa, FL."

The trailer was stolen from the Riverdale area of Temple Terrace on the east side of the Hillsborough River Bridge.
